The Beast of the East is considered one of the very best High School wrestling tournaments in the country with over 90 teams and wrestlers coming from all around the country. It is one of the tournaments that the best wrestlers get to test themselves against each other.
The CPWA is represented by several high schools each year from PIAA D3 that travel to the BOE to test themselves and prepare themselves for the State tournament. This year Cumberland Valley, Middeltown, Mechanicsburg, Susquehanna Township, and Central Dauphin were all teams that represented the CPWA.
Central Dauphin had 5 place winners. (3-3rds, and 2-6ths)
Mechanicsburg had 3 place winners. (1-6th, and 2-7ths)
Cumberland Valley had 3 Place Winners. (1-5th, and 1-7th)
Susquehanna Township had 1-4th Place.
Middletown had no place winners this year. (Middletown has had strong showings in past years)
CPWA also had one former wrestler who won the Beast of the East this Year.
Eric Morris who wrestled through Junior High for Mechanicburg and is currently wrestling for Wyoming Seminary won the 170lb weight Class with 1 pin, 2 major decisions and a regular decision not giving up a point in the tournament.
